Amazon One

Now you can pay with your palm.

Amazon One

Meet Amazon One. A free, contactless, and secure way to pay for your favorite things using your palm. Ditch your wallet—either physical or digital—and just hover your palm over an Amazon One device.

How Does It Work?

  • Amazon One lets you use just your palm to quickly and securely confirm who you are.

  • Every palm is unique, with tiny details that can’t be seen by the human eye or a regular camera.

  • In seconds, Amazon One scans your palm, creates your personal palm signature, and uses it to recognize you whenever you hover your hand over their device.

FAQs

  1. Uniqueness - No two palms are alike, and the features of your palm change little over time. This makes your palm unique to you and you alone.
  2. Ease of Use - Amazon One is capable of recognizing your palm in seconds. There’s no need to enter any additional information once you’ve enrolled, making identification easier than ever.
  3. Private - Your Amazon One profile is private, and you alone have the power to choose which businesses can connect to your profile.
Your Amazon One palm signature can’t be replicated to impersonate you. Amazon One does not use raw palm images to identify a person. Instead, it looks at both palm and underlying vein structure to create a unique numerical, vector representation - called a palm signature - for identity matching. Amazon One recognizes the difference between a real live palm and a replica. We even tested Amazon One with more than 1,000 silicone and 3D printed palms.

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud protects sensitive customer data by offering enhanced features and functionality, based on well tested best practices which create a high level of security. When you scan your palm, the images are immediately encrypted and sent to a highly secure storage area in the AWS Cloud.

Amazon One does not share your palm data with, or sell your palm data to, any third parties.
