We Grow Together
Gather Federal Credit Union was born out of a simple but powerful idea: when we come together, we can do more—for each other, for our families, and for our island. In 1954, ten hardworking pineapple farmers on Kauai pooled their resources to purchase equipment—not just for themselves, but for the good of their entire community. That spirit of collaboration, care, and responsibility still guides everything we do today.
From humble beginnings, we’ve grown alongside the people we serve. Today, Gather FCU is one of Hawai‘i’s largest credit unions, proudly serving over 38,000 members across Kauai and Ni‘ihau with more than $750 million in assets. But more than our size or services, it’s our purpose that drives us: supporting the financial well-being of our members and strengthening the communities we call home. Our seven branches span from the North Shore to the West Side, making it easy for members to connect with us—whether they’re opening a savings account, planning for retirement, or just need friendly advice. As a not-for-profit cooperative, our members are at the heart of every decision. That means lower fees, better rates, and services designed with your best interests in mind.
Gather FCU is federally chartered and regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), ensuring your savings are safe and secure. We’re governed by a volunteer Board of Directors—local people elected by our members—who understand the unique needs of our island community.
We’ve been part of Kauai’s story for over 70 years, and we’re just getting started. Whether it’s financial education for keiki, food drives for families, or everyday banking made easy, we’re always looking for new ways to serve with compassion and purpose. Because at Gather, we don’t just grow as a credit union—we grow together.
