Gather FCU Bank Bus School Programs
Building Strong Habits, One Deposit at a Time
At Gather FCU, we believe in starting early when it comes to financial education. That’s why we bring real-world banking to local elementary schools through our Bank Bus Program—a fun, hands-on way for keiki to learn about the value of saving.
Currently active at ‘Ele‘ele Elementary School and Kekaha Elementary School, the Bank Bus Program allows students to make real deposits into their very own accounts, right from school. Gather staff visit participating campuses regularly to collect deposits and encourage students to build healthy money habits in a familiar, supportive setting.
How It Works
Each participating student receives a deposit envelope with instructions for completing their transaction with help from a parent or guardian. On Bank Bus days, students bring their deposits to school and experience a simplified version of banking—building confidence, responsibility, and a sense of ownership over their savings.
Our goal is to make saving fun and educational while reinforcing real-life skills. The program also helps students develop a positive relationship with money from an early age, one deposit at a time.
Get Your Child Started
To enroll your child in the Bank Bus Program, simply open a Gather FCU youth savings account. You can do this online or by visiting any of our branch offices. We also partner with participating schools to host Parent Account Opening Nights during the school year.
